Olsztyn's Bet Tahara, or House of Purification (now also known as the Mendelsohn House), is the only architectural reminder left of Olsztyn's Jewish community. At the same time, it is also a unique work on a global scale by one of the greatest architects of the twentieth century, Erich Mendelsohn, who was born in Olsztyn.
