House of Purification
Olsztyn's Bet Tahara, or House of Purification (now also known as the Mendelsohn House), is the only architectural reminder left of Olsztyn's Jewish community. At the same time, it is also a unique work on a global scale by one of the greatest architects of the twentieth century, Erich Mendelsohn, who was born in Olsztyn. It is unique in that it was a graduation project at the end of the training of a famous architect at the Polytechnic Institute.
